horse nose at the door...
am sitting in the house/horse trailer... trailer’s in the pasture...horses roaming around... feel a gentle rocking...i listen... again the trailer rocks gently...no noise... opening the door i’m greeted by a huge horse nose... it’s Bear...quarterhorse...thirty years old...special... retired lesson horse...smart as they come... hi Bear...need something?... i don’t know if he just wants company... or if he has a request... he looks at me...looks to the barn... looks at me...looks to the barn... ok Bear...let’s go see... we wander over to the mare motel... in a usually open stall his big palomino friend is standing... the gate has swung shut...Pal’s at the gate... nose on the handle...patiently waiting to be let out... i open the gate...friend goes with friend... they wander to the big pasture... walking and sniffing...to play...and graze with each other... and i wonder... did the yellow horse send Bear to get me?... did Bear want his friend out and asked on his own?... who knows...just find it interesting... as it happens often... they know i’m in the big box... and if they push on the door i come out... so they do...and i do... not to spoil... but to see where it leads... see their request...
